 We opened Lift in an old print shop 17 years ago, with a singular goal. Make strength training accessible to everyone. The big hurdle was cost. At the time, the average cost for a personal training was $110. It took us a couple years, but we figured it out. You can now train here for just $45 per session.

We believe that experience is everything. Our careers span over 30 years. We’ve tried everything, so we know what works. And we know what doesn’t. Seeing results from training can be challenging. Doing it badly makes it impossible.

We know the other trainers in this neighborhood. Trust us, nobody does what we do. There are no classes here. You don’t jump around. The focus isn’t cardio. The focus is strength. Lift is the only gym on the eastside where you can learn how to deadlift properly. Or squat. If you just want to breathe hard and sweat, there are plenty of gyms for that.

At Lift, you never work with just one trainer. We’re all training you at the same time. We each have our own set of specialties. And because we collaborate with with one another on each client’s fitness project, there’s a unique breadth to the feedback you get about your body and your movement.
